Spies sure pole was achievable

Ben Spies said he was very satisfied with his qualifying breakthrough at Assen, though he was sure he could have been on pole position had he not backed off when Loris Capirossi crashed. For the first time since joining the works Yamaha team for 2011, Spies outqualified his world champion team-mate Jorge Lorenzo and put his bike on the front row of the grid. "It's great to be on the front row for Yamaha at this special event.
