Barrichello makes IndyCar test debut
Rubens Barrichello got his first taste of an Indycar at Sebring on Monday as the Brazilian began his two-day test programme with KV Racing. The F1 veteran, whose last hope of racing in Formula 1 this year was dashed when Williams opted to sign Bruno Senna instead, took up the invite to try out an Indycar after conversations with close friend Tony Kanaan. Barrichello has no commitments beyond this week's outing, but told a Brazilian newspaper over the weekend that a switch to the category could be a possibility.

Coyne confirms Wilson?s return
Justin Wilson's long-expected return to Dale Coyne Racing for the 2012 IndyCar season has finally been confirmed. Fear not, Lamborghini fans. According to Stephan Winkelmann, president and CEO of the brand, the company's vehicles will remain naturally aspirated "for now." Winkelmann recently spoke with Autocar, and said that the Raging Bull will remain turbo-free for at least the remainder of the decade. That means we won't see a forced-induction Lamborghini until 2020 at the earliest. That means that it's crystal-clear that the next-generation Gallardo, set to debut in two years or so, will not show up with a turbocharged engine as its heart.
That's interesting news for a number of reasons. Whispers kicking around the web have suggested that the next Audi R8 will receive a smaller-displacement, forced-induction powerplant in the near future and that Lamborghini would share that lump. According to Winkelman, that's not the case. However, with fuel and emissions standards tightening by the moment, Lamborghini may be forced to abandon massive naturally aspirated engines whether it wants to or not.

First Toyota 2000GT produced goes up for sale

A design and engineering icon, the Toyota 2000GT is the forefather of all Japanese supercars, the ancestor to which the Acura NSX, Nissan GT-R and Lexus LFA must pay homage. It's rare enough to find a 2000GT for sale, but the example being offered by Maine Line Exotics is particularly special.
MF10-100001 is the first Toyota 2000GT produced, and one of the three that Toyota delivered to Shelby American Racing in 1967 to be prepped for the 1968 SCCA season. Two of those cars raced under the Shelby-Toyota banner in 1968. MF10-100001 wore the #23 and was driven by Davey Jordan.

It's the two-minute warning in terms of Super Bowl advertising and Chevrolet still has some ground to cover. General Motors' largest brand is still mulling its advertising lineup with less than two weeks remaining until the New York Giants and New England Patriots meet in the big game.Chevrolet has purchased seven spots.

"Every day, we're changing the spots of what's running where," said Chris Perry, Chevrolet's vice president of global marketing and strategy. "We're probably going to push it to the end."

Lorenzo: CRT right future for MotoGP
Former MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo says he fully backs the sport's move towards lower-cost and lower-technology regulations, despite 2011 title-winner Casey Stoner saying he would consider quitting the series over it. Report: Rolls-Royce sells out of million-dollar Year of the Dragon edition Phantoms in two months

Think the "standard" Rolls-Royce Phantom is expensive at $380,000? Try $1.2 million on for size. That's how much the latest special-edition Phantom was going for, but the astronomic price tag hasn't prevented the (*ahem*) Rolls-Royce of automakers from selling every last one.
The model in question is the Year of the Dragon edition, which was first released just this past August. It features a range of special touches - from a gold-colored "coach line" (that being a pinstripe down the flank) to dragons inlaid in the wood and embroidered into the leather - all aimed at marking the new year on the Chinese calendar.
Rolls-Royce isn't saying exactly how many it sold, but apparently the entire allotment was spoken for within two months of the vehicle's launch. The sales are expected to boost the skyrocketing figures Rolls-Royce posts in China, whose number of millionaires has now risen to third worldwide behind the United States and Japan. As a result, Rolls-Royce reportedly plans to add another ten dealerships to its current network of 14 in China by the end of 2011.
We've yet to see exterior shots of the vehicle - limited as we were previously to some close-ups of the unique touches applied to it - but with news that the special edition is completely sold out, we've added a few more photos to our high-res image gallery.

Raikkonen: I?ll need time to settle in

The Swiss know a thing or two about skiing. Our neutral friends go downhill, cross-country and even joring. Yeah, we've never heard of "joring" before either, but it apparently involves slapping on a pair of skis and getting towed around by a horse or dog.
That doesn't sound like all that much fun to us, but if you replace the four-legged hauler with a Bentley Continental GT, we're inclined to change our tune. The good folks at Auto Express headed out to a joring track in Rougemont, Switzerland to try their skill with a 570 horsepower, four-wheel drive Continental GT, and they have video to prove it.

To the millions of Gen Xers sitting in cubicles listening to New Wave bands on Spotify, wondering how they ever got to be so out of shape, so gray, so middle-aged and so much like their parents, this little 10-second clip that showed up on YouTube yesterday promised something great - the return of a hero, a new chapter in the generational totem that is Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Alas, amidst all the speculation that Matthew Broderick would be reprising his role in a belated sequel, comes this revelation: It's just a teaser for a Super Bowl ad.
According to Jalopnik, the ad is for Honda, and it will rehash all the best scenes in the original film. It's a big enough deal that Honda has drafted Todd Phillips, he of The Hangover fame, to direct (John Hughes, director of FBDO, passed away in 2009). Of course, this means the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider will not be appearing, replaced, according to the report, by a 2012 Honda CR-V.

Vitaly Petrov believes his Formula 1 future should be sorted within the next week, with the Russian remaining hopeful that he will be on the starting grid in Australia. Ogier?s co-driver ?fit for Sweden?
Sebastien Ogier's co-driver Julien Ingrassia will be fit for Rally Sweden despite injuring his arm in a high-speed crash on the Monte Carlo Rally. The French duo were providing one of the shocks of the rally, as Ogier ran as high as fourth in his Volkswagen-run Super 2000 Skoda Fabia. But that impressive run came to an end with a big crash on Thursday, in which Ingrassia suffered the injuries as the car hit a tree on his side.

GP3 will race at Monaco in 2012
The GP3 series will make its first visit to Monaco this year, championship organisers announced on Thursday. The Formula 1 support series has been unable to race on the support bill at the Principality for the past two years, mainly due to issues with finding space for its paddock. GP3 organisers revealed before Christmas that they were working on adding Monaco to the 2012 calendar, and on Thursday its addition was confirmed.

Latvala puts Monte crash behind him
Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala says he has put his Monte Carlo Rally shunt behind already, with his focus now firmly fixed on next month's Rally Sweden. Latvala crashed out of the lead of last week's Monte Carlo Rally and was the big loser from the WRC opener, picking up no points because of the event organiser's decision not to run the re-entry regulations known as Rally 2. FIA president Jean Todt met with the World Rally Championship media in Valence this morning to discuss the current promoter crisis in the series. Catalunya's government says it may need to rethink the hosting of Formula 1 and MotoGP events given the difficult economic situation.
