Will Power believes that this weekend's IndyCar race at Sears Point is key to keeping his hopes of reeling in Dario Franchitti's points lead alive. Bottas dominates first Spa race
Valtteri Bottas extended his GP3 championship lead with a dominant victory in wet conditions at Spa. The ART driver grabbed the lead from his team-mate James Calado by out-dragging him away from the start. Calado then had a look to the inside, but Bottas left just enough room to avoid contact and hold the advantage.

Paul di Resta blamed a Force India team mistake for his Q1 exit in Belgian Grand Prix qualifying. Red Bull's Mark Webber hit the front as the Formula 1 field managed a few minutes of dry running in the second free practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. Only the two Mercedes had been able to squeeze in flying laps on slicks in first practice before the rain arrived, and the track was damp again when the afternoon session got underway. Conditions steadily improved, with the two Red Bulls, Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button all taking turns at the front before Webber set the 2m00.964s that would stand at the best intermediate tyre lap of the session.

Bruno Senna will return to Formula 1 at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix as the replacement for Nick Heidfeld at the Renault team. Alex Fontana will make his GP3 debut at Spa this weekend after signing a last-minute deal to race for Jenzer Motorsport. The Swiss teenager currently leads the European F3 Open standings and was a winner earlier in the year at Spa in that championship. Heidfeld hopes to return for Singapore
Nick Heidfeld's manager Andre Theuerzeit remains hopeful that the German will be back in a Renault cockpit in time to race in Singapore, as he intends to bring his legal fight to force the team to honour the driver's contract before the London High Court next month. Senna counting on wet qualifying
Bruno Senna is hoping the rain continues for qualifying at Spa tomorrow as he fears his lack of dry running for Renault will otherwise be a major handicap as he makes his race debut with the team. The Brazilian has been drafted in to replace Nick Heidfeld after Renault grew disappointed with the German, who had been hired at the start of the season as a substitute for the seriously injured Robert Kubica. Rain affected all bar 15 minutes of today's two practice sessions at Spa, leaving Senna short of experience in the car in normal conditions.

Study: Cadillac Escalade still thieves' favorite target

If you own a Cadillac Escalade, you better keep one eye on it at all times. According to the Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI), the Escalade is still the apple of a car thief's eye. The large luxury SUV is six times more likely to be plucked away by thieves than average. If you happen to have the truck-like EXT Escalade, you're in even worse shape since 14 out of every 1,000 vehicles insured wind up with a theft claim.
On the flipside, if you're the proud owner of an Audi A6 then you can rest easy. Car thieves aren't hunting for your particular mid-size luxury sedan. Davy Decorps sent a statement to his fellow NVIDIA Cup drivers in Week Two that he is here to vie for the 2011 Season 3a championship. Decorps, who boasts a 3300+ road iRating took the overall win this week over 2300 fellow sim racers when the series visited the popular Okayama Short Course. Decorps scored 157 points in his only start of the seven day span, one which ended in Victory Lane in Tuesday’s tilt. We're not exactly sure when it happened, but pickup trucks have long since elevated themselves beyond mere tools of the trade. Once bare-bones, utilitarian hardware with more capability than comfort, the truck has evolved into a status symbol. Move out of any urban center and into the surrounding sprawl, and lifted, diesel-chugging, three-quarter-ton pickups are fairly commonplace nowadays. And we're not just talking about rides parked outside work sites, mind you. These days, you're every bit as likely to see them parked outside the local Panera.
As you might expect, automakers are happily feeding the fire, offering a range of trucks that few will use to farm or do backbreaking labor, despite monikers that suggest otherwise. Names like King Ranch and Laramie have fed buyers a line of very profitable trucks loaded with leather-swaddled cabins and every imaginable creature comfort. General Motors is no stranger to this approach, as its GMC Denali line now extends to its monster-sized pickups. Official: Volkswagen Amarok goes all Baywatch with Portugese lifeguards

Get stranded in the waters off a beach in Portugal, and this is what you'll hope to see pulling up on the shore: the Volkswagen Amarok.
In one of its first applications as an emergency vehicle, the Portugese National Institute for Search and Rescue has ordered a fleet of 14 of VW's new pickups for its lifeguards to rescue wayward surfers and swimmers.
The vehicles have been outfitted with emergency lights, surfboard racks and special livery derived from the design of the first Volkswagen SAR concept that previewed the Amarok at the commercial vehicle show in Hanover back in 2008.

Loeb still leads Ogier in Germany
Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier continue to dominate Rallye Deutschland for Citroen, running 4.8 seconds apart at the head of the field after 10 stages. The gap between the pair has ebbed and flowed this morning, with two stage wins for Ogier and one for Loeb, who admitted he lost a little time with a mistake on the morning's final stage, the famous Panzerplatte.

Moving is invariably an insufferable experience. Packing all of your worldly belongings into flimsy cardboard boxes, loading them up into a truck with the help of everyone who you could con into coming by, ferrying the possessions across town, across the state or around the country, and then reversing the whole process is a downright miserable plight. The good people at U-Haul decided to add some levity to the endeavor a few years ago by adding colorful location-themed graphics packages to their rental box trucks. As a result, each of the vehicles has its own personality - just what you need when spending 10 hours in the cab of a tired behemoth.
Now U-Haul has rolled out a spotters guide for its company's SuperGraphics. Customers can peruse the packages by state or Canadian province under four categories; Modern, Classic, Trailer and Commemorative. You can check out the full list along with the stories behind each image by cruising over to U-Haul's website. Be warned, however. Clicking through the various SuperGraphics is a surprisingly good way to lose 30 minutes in a heartbeat.

Ford urges drivers to keep pushing
Ford technical director Christian Loriaux has urged Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala to push as hard as ever on tomorrow's second day of Rallye Deutschland in an effort to demonstrate the Fiesta RS WRC's potential on asphalt. Hirvonen is running third overnight, but the Finn is more than a minute behind leader Sebastien Loeb after being caught on the wrong tyres in the rain on SS2 and then clattering a wall on the fourth stage. Loeb takes early Germany lead
Sebastien Loeb holds his habitual lead in Rally Germany, but it took the eight-time event winner three stages to reach the front. Ford's Jari-Matti Latvala was quickest on the dry first stage, but both the Finn and his team-mate Mikko Hirvonen lost a lot of time when rain hit on SS2. They had gone with hard tyres, while the Citroens used softs - which proved much better suited to the increasingly damp roads.

Official: Gemballa goes racing with McLaren MP4-12C GT3

Think of the name Gemballa and you're bound to conjure up images of hyper-tuned Porsches. That is, after all, what they're known for. But Gemballa today is different than the company we knew just a couple of years ago. After the company's namesake founder was murdered under rather suspicious circumstances, Gemballa was restructured and by necessity put under new management. And that new management appears to be ready to do things a little differently.
For starters, Gemballa has launched a new racing team. And guess what? They're not racing Porsches. They're racing McLarens. The newly formed Gemballa Racing is, in fact, one of the first teams to take delivery of the new McLaren MP4-12C GT3. Two of them, in fact.
The team is registered as an independent company from the aftermarket Porsche tuner, but shares some common ownership, as team owner Steffen Korbach is part owner as well of Gemballa itself. He's hired Sascha Bert, a former F3 and GT driver, to manage the team, which aims to go racing next year.
Will this prove an entirely separate venture that just happens to share its name with the tuning house, or will this emerge as the first step of many to take Gemballa out of Porsche's shadow and into its own right? Graf and Luhr take narrow Elkhart win
Muscle Milk Lola-Aston Martin duo Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr inched closer to Dyson's Guy Smith and Chris Dyson in the American Le Mans Series title race by taking their fourth win of the year in the Road America round. No matter what side of the great domestic manufacturer debate you find yourself on, there's no denying the simple beauty of the Chevrolet small block engine. Whether it be the early 256 cubic-inch forefather or the ubiquitous 350-cubic-inch that we all know and love, the 90-degree General Motors V8 has established itself as an integral part of the fabric of America. GM is set to build its 100 millionth small block this year, and Translogic decided to mark the occasion by spending some time with the vehicle that helped make the engine famous to begin with - the Chevrolet Corvette.
The episode also takes some time to chat with Jamie Meyer, the product integration manager with GM performance parts, to learn a thing or two about what has made the GM small block such a success over the years. Fans are flocking to the Pittsburgh set of the newest installment in the Batman franchise, The Dark Knight Rises. If we lived nearby, we'd be there all the time as well - the action consists of a fleet of Tumblers, a handful of fight scenes, the Batpod and random glimpses of Ms. Anne Hathaway. When Hathaway isn't catching the affection of the camera lens, however, it is her stunt double that gets to clamp down on the Batpod throttle.
What's it like to ride that unique Lucius Fox creation? We imagine it's a tough undertaking, but the stunt double keeps the seemingly heavy and unwieldy bike upright with ease. That doesn't mean accidents won't happen, but in the clip posted after the jump we see Catwoman B getting some pointers.

Pebble Beach enjoyed a visit by a very special member of the Ford stable last week. Lincoln, along with the Edsel and Eleanor Ford house, displayed Edsel Bryant Ford's freshly-restored 1934 Model 40 Special Speedster at the Monterey Concours d'Elegance.
Inspired by a visit to Europe in 1932 and penned by none other than E.T. Gregorie, Ford chief designer at the time, the Roadster began life as a 1934 Model 40 frame before going under the knife for substantial revisions. Stretched a full inch over factory dimensions and saddled substantially lower to the ground, the vehicle boasts a rear-pitched cockpit, long nose and custom aluminum bodywork. A classic Ford Flathead V8 powers the rear wheels.
After Edsel passed away in 1943, the vehicle made a few scant appearances around the country before vanishing. It surfaced again at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance in 1999 and sold to a collector for a heady $1.76 million. When the collector died, the car was returned to the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House before receiving a full restoration to return it to its former glory.
